MME creates 7 Types of Songs:
All MME songs come with lyrics and Lyrical Footnotes (factual information and analysis referencing lyrical content). The Footnotes are written by experienced teachers and curriculum experts.
- Content Songs: cover core curriculum topics; some content songs take a biographical or topical approach while others explore controversial or thought-provoking issues.
- Musical Mnemonics: melody and rhythm help students remember key themes or basic factual information.
- Document Songs: feature excerpts from key primary source documents set to music.
- Song Templates: turn students into songwriters with everything they'll need to write their own lyrics including a beat, choruses and rhyme schemes using key facts geared to specific content.
- Kinesthetic Songs: allow students to engage their hands and bodies while listening and learning.
- MME Meditations: feature gentle, relaxing music with information in a spoken word format.
- Musical Assessments: include quizzes, DBQs (Document Based Questions) and template areas in which teachers can generate their own questions.
